Oxford University Hosts Palestinian Researchers for a Symposium Titled "Towards a Comprehensive Archaeological and Historical Narrative of Palestine"

Oxford, United Kingdom: St. Antony's College, Oxford University, hosted a group of Palestinian researchers working with the Palestine Research Center for an academic symposium titled "Towards a Comprehensive Archaeological and Historical Narrative of Palestine.”, as part of the Center’s efforts to promote the Palestinian narrative internationally. 

This symposium is part of the Center's project to write the history of Palestine and it featured the participation of dozens of Palestinian researchers in the fields of history and archaeology. This multi-dimensional, cross-disciplinary scientific research project aims to deepen the neglected local role in writing the history of Palestine.

The symposium was divided into two sessions. The first session addressed the topic of "Palestine from Ancient to Medieval Times," while the second session was devoted to discussing "Palestine in the Modern Era."

The symposium was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Research Center, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh; the Palestinian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. Hussam Zomlot; and the former Ambassador, Mr. Afif Safieh. The symposium also featured a group of prominent researchers and academics contributing to the project, including: the academic supervisor, Dr. Hamdan Taha; Dr. Ayman Yousef; Dr. Ghattas Sayej; Dr. Adel Manna, Dr. Iman Saqa, Dr. Issam Halayqa, Dr. Issam Nassar, Dr. Mahmoud Hawari, Dr. Mitri Raheb, and Dr. Montaser Jarrar. 

The symposium was moderated by Professor Eugene Rogan, Head of the University's Middle East Center, and was well-attended by a large audience, who had the opportunity to interact with the researchers and ask questions and share input, adding a scholarly dimension to the discussions and enriching dialogue on the topic.
